In March I wrote about the fast track to Gold offer through the Hilton MVP program. That is the main attraction, of course. At the time, I mentioned the Corporate codes listed on the website and how they could help save you money. Since I’m currently participating in a fast track to Gold offer, I’m using the MVP rates and I wanted to share my results with you.
The MVP rates/corporate codes definitely add value to the MVP program beyond the fast track offer and I encourage you to use the codes whenever possible. Normally I’ll book AAA rates (automobile club) to save money over the best available rate. On a mattress run that I just completed, the MVP rate offered an additional $12 in savings over the AAA rate. The rate ended up being $63. This was at a Hilton hotel, not a Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn or DoubleTree.
While I was successful scoring a cheap rate this weekend, and I admit that low occupancy due to Easter played a part, the MVP rate for one of my future reservations is actually $0.20 more expensive than the AAA rate. As you can see, MVP vs. AAA rates don’t always favor MVP so you still have to check both.
If you’re not a member of an automobile club, you’ll be happy to know that (in the example above) the MVP rate was 20% cheaper than the best available rate on the Hilton website. In this case, it was a savings of $22. If you’re a leisure traveler and funding your own travel, the MVP rates should be your new best friend. What will you do with the money you save?
Here are the two corporate codes for your reference:
- N0041604 – Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and select Hilton Grand Vacations
- 560041604 – Hampton Inn, Doubletree and Embassy Suites
It’s possible that neither will work. This means the hotel does not participate in the program. I’ve had more success with the codes than not. Happy hunting!
Update (6/10/11): Visa Signature cardholders can get free Hilton Honors Gold status.
