Written by In the last few months, the tone of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Flyertalk thread has changed. It used to be mostly positive with glowing reviews of the hotel and the staff. My experience at the hotel was in line with those reviews. But I guess things have changed, based on all the new commentary.
Many guests are now turning to the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach, which was just awarded Hyatt’s Project of the Year award. It’s been met with mostly positive reviews, especially as an alternative to the Hyatt Regency. I wondered what the big deal was because, for the most part, Hyatt Places are all the same; the lobby, the room layout, the bathroom layout, everything.
